Most of the time and hesitancy of editing goes in to me not wanting to do the voice-over. |
Revision as of 10:15, 11 February 2022
See the parent article for details about what's happening in the video.
Footage was shot with my Pentax K-5 from November 21 2021 through November 30 2021.
Editing was done with Kdenlive 19.12 from December 2021 through February 2022.
(That's assuming I finish this month.)
Because of prolonged production time I'm going to release what I have recorded so far as part 1 before I start with part 2.

Mistakes
Overall I made the following mistakes during production:
- I didn't write a script
- I didn't film any usable B-roll
- I didn't make any kind of time for interjections
- There's no soft transitioning between scenes
- I didn't lock exposure on a bunch of clips
- I didn't white balance clips properly
- I didn't know what type of clips I needed in advance
- I didn't even know what type of video I was making
Workflow
By the end of production my workflow looked like this:
- Insert clips in to rough order and length
- Record voice-over in Audacity
- Match the audio up with the clips
- Tighten the timings a bit until things feel more natural
Most of the time and hesitancy of editing goes in to me not wanting to do the voice-over.
