This video is about how I messed up, and fixing VGA brightness.
Rough order of the video goes here:

* I shouldn't have just touched random joints
Footage was shot from March 2022 through July 2023.
* I shouldn't have used too big an iron
* I shouldn't have used solder braid

Desoldering attempt 1:
Editing was started on July 2023 and ended December 30 2023.

* No plastic melted though
I attempted to save my time and sanity by editing and subtitling the video first while writing the script then recording the voice over last. As a rule of thumb it seems each line of narration tends to be around 4 seconds.
* Show clean up and flux residue

Pin inspection:
I did attempt to produce the video in Blender but quickly went back to Kdenlive and Inkscape.

* Unbend pins
I did the subtitles during editing with Kdenlive and also smothered a lot of text on the video so it can be watched without subtitles.

Desoldering attempt 2:
In the end it seemed the format of the video was very similar to a slideshow presentation, but with a separate script and video elements. Maybe next video I should try to use a slideshow program that can export to HTML or something, then use Kdenlive to stack it together and add some videos.

This page is about the Repairing an AMD Geode: Part 3 video.

This video is about how I messed up, and fixing VGA brightness.

See AMD Geode/Video 3/Script for a textual description of the video.

Footage was shot from March 2022 through July 2023.

Editing was started on July 2023 and ended December 30 2023.

Workflow[edit | edit source]

I attempted to save my time and sanity by editing and subtitling the video first while writing the script then recording the voice over last. As a rule of thumb it seems each line of narration tends to be around 4 seconds.

I did attempt to produce the video in Blender but quickly went back to Kdenlive and Inkscape.

I did the subtitles during editing with Kdenlive and also smothered a lot of text on the video so it can be watched without subtitles.

In the end it seemed the format of the video was very similar to a slideshow presentation, but with a separate script and video elements. Maybe next video I should try to use a slideshow program that can export to HTML or something, then use Kdenlive to stack it together and add some videos.
